Cuesta creer que en apenas 170 años desde que Bell patentó de manera fraudulenta el teléfono (ver el artículo anterior) hayamos pasado a tener dispositivos móviles en nuestras manos capaces de enviar hombres a la luna.   /  It's hard to believe that in a matter of 170 years we have gone from Bell's fraudulent telephone patent (see the linked previous post) to having devices in the palm of our hands capable of sending the first men to the moon.

Kellogg: El loco (o el genio) tras la caja de cereales / Kellogg: The Mad Man (or Genius) Behind the Cereal Box

Seguramente, al igual que yo, cuando escucháis la palabra Kellogg's la primera imagen que os viene a la mente es la típica caja de Corn Flakes o cualquiera de las variedades azucaradas más modernas.  /  I am willing to bet that much like me, when you hear the word Kellogg’s, the first image that pops to mind is the typical Corn Flakes Box or any of the more modern sugary variations of this breakfast cereal.

Un día como hoy 14 de febrero de 1876, mientras las parejas paseaban por el Central Park dadas de la mano  celebrando el día de San Valentín, en Washington resonaba el pistoletazo que daba inicio a la carrera de la telefonía.    /  It was a day very much like today,  February 14th 1876. While couples strolled hand in hand around Dental Park celebrating Valentine's Day, the starting shot of the telephone race resonated in Washington.

El carnaval es una época del año que solemos asociar con fiestas, promiscuidad y liberación. Parte del motivo de disfrazarnos es evitar ser reconocidos cuando estamos actuando de maneras ”poco apropiadas”.   /  Carnaval is a time of year that we usually associate with parties, promiscuity, and freedom. Part of the reason behind wearing costumes is to avoid being recognised while behaving in a  less than appropriate manner.
